Chevrolet Cars also known lovingly as Chevy's, are an American icon founded by Louis Chevrolet and manufactured by his friend Durant, who later became president of General Motors (GM). Chevrolet then set out on a campaign to be Henry Ford's biggest competitor.
From the 1920s through the 1940s Chevrolet Cars competed with Ford, and Chrysler Plymouth, for the position known as the low priced three.
Chevrolet produces a wide variety of automobiles, from subcompacts to commercial trucks. Highly influential in the 1950s and 1960s, Chevrolet introduced the iconic Corvette, the Corvair, and the Camaro.
As of 2010 Chevrolet operates in over 140 countries, setting records worldwide with a record of 4.76 million vehicles sold.
