A rare MC12 Corsa is listed for sale at JamesList for $2 million, or about
$500,000 more than the original sale price from the factory. This one is in
orange color, with only 300 miles on the clock.
Maserati fabricated the
MC12 Corsa to satisfy the needs of its most loyal, track-obsessed clients. Based
closely on the GT1 racing version, the MC12 Corsa packs a mammoth 6-liter V12
producing 745 horsepower - 122 more than the roadgoing supercar. The MC12 Corsa
is intended for private use, albeit restricted to the track, as the Corsa's
modifications make it illegal to drive on the road.
The Corsa was
developed directly from the MC12 GT1, which won the 2005 FIA GT Manufacturers
Cup. Only twelve MC12 Corsas were sold to selected customers, each of whom paid
$1.47 million for the privilege. Another three vehicles were produced for
testing and publicity purposes.
