The recent addition as standard of ESP stability control and the low tire
pressure warning across the entire range makes the Leon even more attractive.
Seat Leon FR's Petrol and Diesel Engines
The 2011 Leon's FR
versions are available with the 211 hp 2.0 TSI and 170 hp 2.0 TDI engines.
The four-cylinder 2.0-liter petrol engine featuring direct-injection
technology puts a peak torque of 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) on tap between 1,800 and
5,000 rpm. This engine propels the Leon to a top speed of 145 mph (229 km/h) and
from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds.
The diesel variant of the Leon FR is
driven by the 170 hp 2.0 TDI powerpack partnered by a six-speed manual gearbox.
The result is a top speed of 133 mph (214 km/h) and a time of 7.9 seconds to
reach 60 mph from standstill.
Another noteworthy technical highlight is
the fact that the 2.0 TSI version of the Seat Leon FR can be equipped with the
DSG gearshift which offers the added benefit of shift paddles on the steering
wheel. Thanks to these paddles, gear changes can be executed even faster and
without drivers having to take their hands off the steering wheel at any time,
resulting in added safety.
Standard Equipment
Standard
specification safety elements on the FR trim include ABS and TCS, ESP with EBD
emergency braking, volumetric alarm, low tire pressure warning, driver and front
passenger airbags, front sidebags, curtain airbags and Isofix anchorage points.
The exterior of the Seat Leon FR features front fog lights, oversized front
bumpers with larger air intakes and honeycomb grille, a rear bumper with a
racing-style diffuser finished in black, 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 tires
(and the option of 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/40 tires), silver-painted door
mirrors plus twin polished steel tailpipes.
In the interior, the
customers find front power windows with one-touch control and anti-trap
facility, exclusive leather steering wheel and gear lever knob with the FR
insignia, rear power windows, trip computer, "coming and leaving home" function,
cruise control, twin-zone climate control, front floor matt fasteners, radio
with CD/MP3 player and aux-in audio connection, as well as eight speakers.
Seat Mediasystem Navigator
The sophisticated Seat Mediasystem
navigator can also be installed on all Seat Leon versions. It features a 6.5
inch color touch-screen with VGA resolution (800x400), as well as a 30 Gb hard
disk that enhances route calculation speed. The mapbase is no longer available
on CD, but a DVD with six times more storage capacity. The Seat Mediasystem made
by Siemens with Navteq maps features 28 maps of Western Europe that can be
downloaded once onto the hard disk.
The Leon is also available with the
following options: AFS bi-xenon headlights, connection for an iPod or other
external USB-type MP3 players, rear side airbags, navigation system, electric
glass sunroof, heated Seats, and a Bluetooth system.
