Today Ferrari started the International Media Test Drive of the Ferrari 458
Spider, which will last until 17 October. 200 journalists from all over the
world and from the most prestigious news outlets will come to Italy to
test-drive the new exclusive 8-cylinder with mid-rear engine from Ferrari. The
first model in the world with an architecture sporting a hard-top made of
aluminum will be the protagonist on the roads of the Apennine hills between
Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, connected to the tradition of the Prancing Horse.
Included in the route is the legendary track of the "Parma - Poggio di Berceto"
hill climb, where Enzo Ferrari participated in his first race as a driver in the
year 1919.
The 458 Spider pays homage to the architectonic and natural beauties of the
South with the official video shot at the Amalfi coast and on some exceptional
roads of the Basilicata region. A part of the video was shot in Caserta at the
famous Reggia, where some really unique images were recorded thanks to the
collaboration of the ministry of cultural affairs and the B.A.P.S.A.E. of
Caserta and Benevento.
Thus the tradition of the Prancing Horse - using places and locations in Italy,
launching its new models, contributing to the promotion of the beauties of Italy
- continues. The Ferrari California was presented in Sicily at the saline of
Mozia, the archaeological park of Selinunte and the coast and roads of the
Trapani province; the FF on the roads of South Tyrol in the valleys of the
Dolomites, taking two of the new Ferrari model on an altitude of 2,000 meters to
the Plan de Corones. Last but not least the 458 in its Coupe version, to pay
homage to Italy and its name, was even designated to be the 458 Italia.
